“Client
Referrals...”
If you refer a prospective
client to me, and an attorney-client relationship is
formed, you can be assured of two things:
(1)
I will diligently represent the client’s interests in a way that puts
you in a very positive light for making the referral; and
(2)
If you are an attorney, I will not be poaching your existing client for
future legal work that conflicts with your practice. My focus is
helping entrepreneurs protect and grow their businesses offline and
online. Anything beyond that is work that I will expect to be handled
by you or another attorney.
Please
note that I do not provide referral fees because it is against the
rules of professional conduct to do so and such fees inherently taint
the attorney-client relationship. The client will always be wondering
if the referral was made in his best interests or simply for money.
If you are an attorney and
want to split legal fees based on work that you perform, we can discuss
the issue to ensure that we fully comply with ethics rules that
includes informed client consent.
You’ll
want to click
